This record cover was a fictional uni assignment. We drew two music genres out of a hat and developed a music act and a record cover. I drew Hip Hop and Funk, which already have quite alot in common.
In developing this, I thought of how hip hop would sound if it was made in the town I spend the first 8 years of my life in - a small, miserable place with equal looking houses and no real connection to elsewhere for young people and how that sound would evolve if it was touched by a bit of metropolitan summer funkyness.
